NBA : Spurs defeat Mavericks
Manu Ginobili scored a season-high 37 points to help the host San Antonio Spurs overcome the absence of Tim Duncan to beat the Dallas Mavericks 97-95 Wednesday.
Tony Parker added 23 points for the Spurs, who lost almost all of an 11-point lead in the fourth quarter.
Josh Howard led the Mavericks with 22 points and nine rebounds. Jason Terry added 20 points and Dirk Nowitzki had 15 points and nine rebounds.
Lakers 111, Nuggets 107: At Denver, Allen Iverson scored a season-high 51 points but Kobe Bryant’s 25 led Los Angeles to a win over the Nuggets.
Wizards 105, Cavaliers 86: At Washington, Caron Butler had 27 points to lead the Wizards past Cleveland, which has lost four straight without LeBron James, sidelined with a sprained left index finger.

Celtics 113, 76ers 103: At Philadelphia, Paul Pierce had 19 points and 12 assists, Kevin Garnett scored 22 points and Boston beat the 76ers.
Knicks 100, Nets 93: At East Rutherford, N.J., Jamal Crawford scored 29 points, Zach Randolph added 25, and New York overcame the absences of two starters – point guard Stephon Marbury and center Eddy Curry – to beat New Jersey.
Pistons 91, Hornets 76: At New Orleans, Richard Hamilton scored 21 points and Chauncey Billups added 18 to help Detroit beat the Hornets for its fifth straight win. Tyson Chandler paced New Orleans with 17 points and 22 rebounds.
Rockets 105, Grizzlies 92: At Houston, Tracy McGrady had his third career triple-double (17, 10, 12) and Yao Ming had 24 points and 13 rebounds to help the Rockets beat Memphis.
Warriors 120, Bucks 90: At Oakland, Calif., Stephen Jackson and Baron Davis each scored 20 to lead Golden State past Milwaukee for its seventh win in eight games. Michael Redd led the Bucks with 24 points.
