If the plaintiffs win a judgment in the case, what would happen to Tyler DeLeon’s share?

Tim Tesh, an attorney for the children, said he believes the money eventually would go to DeLeon’s adopted brothers and sisters – the other plaintiffs. But technically, Carole DeLeon – the woman responsible for his death – remains his legal beneficiary, Tesh said.

He said he assumes state law would prevent her from receiving such a benefit, given that she’s serving a prison sentence for criminal mistreatment in Tyler’s death.
