CSI settles with coach
TWIN FALLS, Idaho – Former College of Southern Idaho volleyball coach Ben Stroud will be paid about $357,000 in a settlement stemming from his firing.
The settlement agreement signed Oct. 31 gives Stroud a $10,000 lump sum payment, then he will receive annuity payments that will total about $347,000.
College officials and Bill Mauk, Stroud’s lawyer, say the agreement forbids them from commenting. Stroud was fired in August 2006 amid allegations he violated rules by recruiting a player who had already signed with a college.
CSI officials also agreed to give a beneficial recommendation to any potential employer of Stroud.
