Religion notebook: Plenty of choices for holiday services
Green Bluff Community United Methodist Church, 9908 E. Green Bluff Road, Colbert, will present a living Nativity scene Saturday and Dec. 21-22 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
The scene will be set up on the east of the church building.
The church will also present the Nativity after the family candlelight Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m.

Christmas services
“Manito Presbyterian Church, 401 E. 30th Ave., will present an adaptation of “Christmas Mouseling,” by Dori Chaconas and Christmas carols during its service Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
The service will be presented by Rev. Scott Starbuck and John Bodinger, director of music.

“Central Lutheran Church, 512 S. Bernard, will present the ancient worship format of Lessons and Carols Sunday during its 10:30 a.m. worship service.

The choirs of the church will present the Nine Lessons and Carols.

Christmas concert
First Church of the Nazarene, 9004 N. Country Homes Blvd., will present the African Children’s Choir Sunday at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
The choir is filled with children ages seven to eleven from some of the poorest villages in Nigeria, Ghana, Rwanda, Uganda and Kenya.
The concert is free, but donations will be accepted for the choir, which helps each village represented by the children.

Solstice Celtic Eucharist
St. David’s Episcopal Church, 7315 N. Wall, will present a winter solstice celebration and contemporary Celtic Eucharist Dec. 20 at 7 p.m.
There will be a blessing, sharing of fire and a reception will follow the service.
Participants should bring a finger-food snack or beverage to share.

Speaker event
Gonzaga University President Robert Spitzer and Rev. Darrin Connall, rector of the Bishop White Seminary, will speak Friday at noon during the Serra Club meeting at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 302 E. Boone Ave.
The two will present old photographs of the seminary and Spitzer is expected to speak to the club members providing support for seminarians.
