NBA : Wizards defeat Heat
DeShawn Stevenson scored a season-high 26 points and the Washington Wizards added to Miami’s misery at home, beating the Heat 104-91 on Thursday night in Miami.
Caron Butler finished with 19 points and nine rebounds and Antawn Jamison had 16 points and 16 rebounds for Washington (12-10), which had lost each of its last eight trips to Miami and had dropped 15 of 16 overall to the Heat.
Chris Quinn scored a career-high 22 points for Miami (6-16), which saw its two-game winning streak end and lost for the seventh time in nine home games.
Lakers 102, Spurs 97: At Los Angeles, Calif., Kobe Bryant scored a game-high 30 points and Lamar Odom added 15 points and eight rebounds to lead Los Angeles (13-8) to a victory over injury-riddled San Antonio.
Bruce Bowen scored 22 points to lead the Spurs, who were without Tim Duncan and Tony Parker due to injuries. Brent Barry added 17 points for the Spurs (17-5).
