Alias Prouty made a reverse layin with 6 seconds left to break a tie and give Colville a 59-57 non-league victory at Freeman on Friday.

Prouty finished with 15 points and Corey Ward added 11 for the Indians (3-0), who outscored the Scotties 31-24 in the second half to erase a five-point halftime deficit.

Jake Heinen led Freeman (3-2) with a game-high 19 points.

Elsewhere, Kevin McNeil scored a game-high 20 points and added 10 assists and six rebounds as Deer Park topped visiting Chewelah 54-45. Corey Meyers and Dallin Lundren had 11 points each and Brad Ruman added 10 points and eight boards for the Stags (3-1), who outscored the Cougars 32-20 in the second half to erase a three-point halftime deficit. Marquis Woods and Eric Thome had nine points apiece to lead Chewelah (2-3). … J.P.
