Heritage Board awards funds to local groups
The Idaho Heritage Board of Trustees has awarded $16,000 to local community organizations through partnerships with Avista North Idaho Endowment and the Steele Reese Foundation. Recipients are listed.
Sandpoint Head Start was awarded $5,000; Pleasantview School Association in Post Falls and the Shoshone County Mining Museum staff house in Kellogg both received $4,000; Murray Masonic Lodge got $2,000; and the Coeur d’Alene Fire Department archives was awarded $1,500.
The Idaho Heritage Foundation is the lasting legacy of the Idaho Centennial Foundation and receives 50 cents from the sale of every Idaho license plate through partnership with the state.
•The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Fund recently received a $2,000 donation from the employees at Schuon Manufacturing, a Coeur d’Alene company which makes hardware used at lumber mills.
The KCSD K-9 unit has three officers with dogs.
