Variety of Christmas services offered at area churches

Tuesday is Christmas and the days leading up to it are filled with special worship services hosted by Valley churches. There’s sure to be something to fit everyone’s schedule.

• The Rev. Linda Crowe of Veradale United Church of Christ will present her annual contemporary Christmas story during the 10:30 a.m. worship service Sunday. The tale is called “A Spokane Valley Christmas Story.” The church, at 611 N. Progress Road, will also host a candlelight Christmas Eve service at 7:30 p.m. Monday.

•The Sunday school children at Christ Lutheran Church will present their Christmas program during a special combined service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The church also will have services at 5 and 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The church is at 13009 E. Broadway Ave.

•Spokane Valley Assembly of God Church, 15618 E. Broadway Ave., will have a family Christmas Eve service at 6 p.m. Monday. There will be Christmas carols and special music.

•Opportunity Presbyterian Church will host two services on Christmas Eve, a family service at 6:30 p.m. and a Communion service at 9. The church is at 202 N. Pines Road.

•A combined worship service will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday at Spokane Valley United Methodist Church, 115 N. Raymond Road. On Christmas Eve the church will include a dramatic telling of the Christmas story called “Imagine Christmas” during a 7 p.m. service. A traditional candlelight service will follow at 10.

•Peace Lutheran Church will host a Christmas Eve service at 7:30 p.m. Monday. The evening will include a birthday cake for Jesus. The church is at 4124 N. Harvard Road.

•A candlelight and Communion service will begin at 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve at Foothills Community Church, 11102 N. Forker Road.

•The children of Millwood Presbyterian Church will present their Christmas program “Christmas Presence” during a special combined worship service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. The church, 3223 N. Marguerite Road, will also have a family service at 5:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve, followed by a traditional service at 7:30. The church’s Bell Choir will be performing a short concert between the Christmas Eve services at 7.

•Zion Lutheran Church will host two services on Christmas Eve, a family service at 5 p.m. and a Communion service at 7. The family service will include a dramatic retelling of the Christmas story and the later service will include special music by the Chancel Choir. The church is at 8304 E. Buckeye Ave.

•The Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene will have a combined worship service at 11 a.m. Sunday. The church will also have a service at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The church is at 15515 E. 20th.

•A Christmas Eve service will begin at 7 p.m. Monday at Opportunity Christian Church, 708 N. Pines Road.

•Services will begin at 7 and 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, 15319 E. Eighth Ave. The church will also have a service at 10 a.m. on Christmas Day.

•Christmas Eve services will begin at 6 and 9 p.m. Monday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 810 S. Sullivan Road.
