Pipe break floods Pullman street

From Staff Reports The Spokesman-Review

A broken water pipe on a busy Pullman arterial shut down a section of the avenue Thursday, and the city expects it to remain closed through this morning, said Chris Tennant, a commander with the Pullman Police Department.

The pipe broke about 5 p.m., filling five-lane North Grand Avenue with water.

“It turned it into a river for numerous blocks,” Tennant said.

North Grand was closed from Stadium Way to Nye Street, and people living on College Hill and Military Hill were asked to conserve water while the reservoirs refilled.
