Jenny McVeigh scored 16 points, Jordan Schoening tossed in 12 and Katelyn Loper added 11 as Post Falls beat Bonanza 53-40 in the Lady Wolves Holiday Tournament title game in Las Vegas.
The Trojans (10-2) outscored Bonanza 19-9 in the fourth quarter to put the game away.
PF also beat Basic 47-31 in a game that was not part of the tournament.
“Whitney Heleker tossed in a game-high 21 points and Ali Johnson added 17 as Coeur d’Alene took third place in the Gillette (Wyo.) Classic with a 62-48 victory over Rock Springs. The Vikings (12-1) took control in the second half, outscoring Rock Springs 32-21.
“Sadie Lazzarini scored 12 points and Kayla Johnson and Emily Shaw added 10 apiece as Colfax (7-2) beat Woodland 58-32 at the SunDome Shootout in Yakima. The Bulldogs outscored Woodland 15-6 in each of the first two quarters. … Also at the tournament, Leslie Stillar scored a game-high 11 points to lead Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) to a 61-26 victory over Naches Valley. The Eagles (6-4) led 32-7 at the half.
“Jill Swanson scored 13 points as Bellevue captured the title of the Blackhawk Tournament with a 48-37 victory over host Cheney. Kyle Miller tallied a game-high 16 points to guide the Blackhawks (3-4).
“Kelsey Schalock and Molly Rolstad scored 10 points apiece to guide Chewelah (4-5) to a 41-37 victory over St. John-Endicott in the championship game of the Reardan Tournament. Kelly Van Lith tallied a game-high 15 points to lead the Eagles (4-6). … In the consolation game, Brook Ferderer scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Reardan to a 65-38 win over Wellpinit. Ynaisia Van Komen scored nine points and Ashtin Jeney added eight points and nine assists for the Indians (6-3), who outscored the Redskins 17-8 in the second quarter and led 31-15 at the half. Lauren Flett tallied 19 points to lead Wellpinit (1-9).
“Alisa Moehrle tallied a game-high 16 points to guide Colton (9-0) to a 53-33 victory over Soap Lake in the championship game of the Davenport Christmas Tournament. The Wildcats took control in the third quarter, outscoring the Eagles 19-3. … In the consolation game, Mariah Mielke scored eight of her game-high 17 points in the second quarter and Davenport (4-5) cruised to a 51-36 win over Columbia (0-10). Salena Flett tallied 11 points to lead the Lions.
“Kate Hodges scored 17 points and Rosalia used a big second half to defeat Springdale 56-47 in the title game of the Rosalia Spartan Classic. Michelle Maley and Katelyn Maley added nine points apiece for the Spartans (9-1), who outscored the Chargers 26-17 in the second half. Holly Howard had a game-high 18 points and Sara Taulaki added 15 to guide Springdale (7-4). … Also at the tournament, Tina Raynor scored a game-high 13 points and St. Michael’s (2-8) took third place with a 38-34 victory over Kootenai. Christine Gimmeson scored a team-high eight points for the Warriors (3-7).
“St. George’s started quickly and never looked back in a 54-27 Panorama League victory over host Curlew. Chessey Thomas scored a game-high 18 points, Molly O’Brien chipped in 13 and Lena Leverett-Standal added 10 to guide the Dragons. Mackenzie Wilson had nine points for the Cougars. St. George’s improved to 9-1 on the season and 5-0 in league play while Curlew dropped to 4-6 and 3-4. … Elsewhere in the league, Maria Villegas scored 16 points to guide Selkirk to a 49-37 victory over visiting Northport at Ione. Kaprina Goodwin tallied a game-high 27 points to lead the Mustangs. Selkirk improved to 3-6 overall and 2-2 in league play while the Mustangs fell to 5-6 and 5-2.
“Taylor Stewart scored 15 points and Melissa Hopkins added 14 points and eight rebounds as Priest River (11-1) defeated Medical Lake 55-50 in a non-league game at Medical Lake (2-5). Marissa Propeck had 12 points and Kaitlin McNeill added 11 for the Cardinals. … In other non-league games, Entiat used a big second-half effort to defeat visiting Almira/Coulee-Hartline 54-43. The Tigers outscored the Warriors 23-6 in the third quarter to erase an eight-point halftime deficit. Breanna Martin had 11 points and Sarah Gloyn added 10 for Almira/Coulee-Hartline (4-4). … Karla Koller had 27 points, 10 steals and eight rebounds to guide LaCrosse-Washtucna to a 50-40 win over visiting Dayton. The Tigercats outscored the Bulldogs 17-6 in the first quarter and led 28-11 at the half. LW improved to 7-2. … Tai Jensen scored 15 points to lead Troy to a 40-20 victory over host Lakeside (4-7) in Plummer. Rian Miller tallied 10 points to lead the Knights. … Omak built a big first-half lead and cruised to a 42-36 victory over visiting Republic. The Pioneers (3-5)3-5. outscored the Tigers 20-6 in the second quarter and led 29-15 at the half. Rachel Baldwin scored 13 points, Tori Orestad tossed in nine and Karissa Lynn added eight to lead Republic. The Tigers fell to 3-6 on the season.
