Q: Five North Side residents selected at random at locations throughout North Spokane were recently asked: Do you have a special event or gift planned for Valentine’s Day?

Tammy Frear: “I’m going to send men-bashing valentines to all my girlfriends. I don’t have a boyfriend of my own. Can you tell why?”

Ashlee Pangis: “No because my boyfriend lives 300 miles away. He’ll fly out the weekend after and we’ll go to dinner.”

Penny Penton: “We usually have a nice special dinner at home and then take out the family albums and remember people we love and have loved.”

James Knapp: “My wife and I get together with three other couples. It is an 18-year tradition. We have a luxurious dinner and spend the evening together. I give my wife Ecuadorian roses from the Davenport Flower Shop and Godiva chocolates.”

Clint Barnett: “It is also my 10-year anniversary so we are going to the Coeur d’Alene Resort for the night. I also have a special gift she has wanted for a long time. She deserves it.”
