Lilac royalty selection on Sunday
The 2007 Lilac Festival queen and six princesses will be selected from 14 finalists at the Royalty Scholarship Coronation at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Spokane Masonic Center, 1108 W. Riverside Ave.
Tickets are $10, available through TicketsWest.
Each of those seven will receive a $1,250 scholarship provided by Sterling Savings Bank, with the queen receiving an additional $1,500 from the Ralph Husom Past Presidents Scholarship.
The court will represent Spokane at various Northwest events and will ride in the 69th annual Spokane Lilac Festival Armed Forces Torchlight Parade. This year’s theme is “Here’s to the Heroes.”
The finalists are: Erika Brathovde, Mead High School; Kali Clark, Central Valley; Brianne Didier, Northwest Christian; Margeaux Fox, Lewis and Clark; Rachel Hart, Shadle Park; Alyssa Henke, Gonzaga Prep; Melissa Johns, West Valley; Kelleene Jolstead, East Valley; Kristin Kelly, Mt. Spokane; Laura Lorber, Ferris; Tawnee Moss, Rogers; Wylie Patton, Freeman; Alexandra Stierwalt, North Central; and Jasmine Williams, Medical Lake.
The 14 finalists were chosen from candidates from 30 Spokane-area high schools.
