Nominations sought for CV awards

The Spokesman-Review

The Central Valley School District board of directors is seeking nominations for the district’s 2007 Meritorious Service Awards.

The awards honor contributions by individuals and organizations toward student achievement.

“Central Valley is incredibly lucky to have many dedicated employees who give freely of their time and talents to benefit our students and community,” said Debra Long, school board president. “We also know there are many community members and organizations that actively support our students and schools.

“The Meritorious Service Awards are designed to honor all of these individuals.”

Parents, students, district employees and employee organizations are encouraged to submit nominations in the following categories:

Certificated employee – teachers, counselors, principals, etc.

Classified employee – secretaries, crossing guards, bus drivers, etc.

Team – groups of employees, parents, community members and/or students working together to strengthen student learning and achievement

Community member/organization – individuals, businesses or other organizations that support students and/or Central Valley schools.

Category-specific nomination forms are available in schools or online. Nominations should be submitted to the school principal or building administrator by Friday.

Each Central Valley school will honor nominees during in-building celebrations between Feb. 27 and March 23.

All nominations will be sent to the school board for consideration and selection as district Meritorious Service Award recipients.

Districtwide recipients will be announced March 26.
