Inland Empire League
Nate Bligh scored 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting and grabbed six rebounds as Coeur d’Alene topped host Moscow 68-54 Friday.
Nate Clinton tossed in 15 points and Austin Heleker added 12 points and five boards for the Vikings (16-4, 11-1), who outscored the Bears 17-4 in the second quarter after falling behind 23-12 in the first.
Coeur d’Alene got it going in the second half, outscoring Moscow 39-27.
Paul Wimer tallied a team-high 16 points and Anthony Williams added 15, including four 3-pointers, to lead Moscow (13-6, 7-4).
Coeur d’Alene will host the 5A district playoffs next Friday and Saturday. The top-seeded Vikings will play No. 4 Post Falls at 7:30 p.m. and No. 2 Lewiston will face No. 3 Lake City at 6 p.m. Both games are on Friday.
Elsewhere in the IEL, Andrew Packwood scored 17 points and Nate Ebel added 10 as Lewiston (13-4, 8-3) topped visiting Lakeland (2-17, 0-12) 60-48. Shad Strerath added nine points for the Bengals, who led by 12 at halftime. Bubba Bartlett, Lynn Mallory and Ryan Huff all scored 10 points to lead the Hawks, who will play at Sandpoint Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the first round of the district playoffs.
Non-league
David Baker scored 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Josiah Menzies added 27 points, including seven 3-pointers, as Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy (16-3) whipped visiting Pullman Christian 80-56. The Panthers outscored Pullman Christian 27-12 in the first quarter and led 50-29 at halftime. Chris Shaw added nine points and dished out a game-high 11 assists and Austin Folnagy added seven points for Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy.
Northeast A Tournament
Jason Dorow and Mike Naccarato scored 19 points apiece as Chewelah (11-10) topped visiting Kettle Falls (6-14) 69-51. Weston Sellars tallied a team-high 13 points for the Bulldogs, who are finished for the season. The Cougars will meet top-seeded Colfax (16-4) Feb. 14 at 8 p.m. … Leif Parcell scored 17 points, Nick Phillips chipped in 16 and Kyle Stillar added 15 as Lakeside (13-8) cruised past Newport (2-19) 64-48. The Eagles outscored the Grizzlies 22-8 in the second quarter and led 33-12 at halftime. Willie Hunt scored 11 points to lead Newport. Lakeside will play No. 2 Freeman (15-5) Feb. 14 at 5 p.m.
