Religion notebook: Seminarian will discuss trip to Israel

Seminary student Chris Hart will speak about his January study trip to Israel at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Veradale United Church of Christ, 611 N. Progress Road.

Hart, a member of the congregation, is studying at Eden Seminary in St. Louis.

The evening includes a photo display and a dinner. The meal is free, but reservations are required.

Bible study

Opportunity Presbyterian Church is starting its weekly Lenten Bible study a little early, with the first session beginning at 9 a.m. Sunday.

The class, titled “Finding God in the Land of Narnia,” will be every Sunday at 9 a.m. through March 25. The program will repeat each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. through March 28.

All are welcome to attend.

Movie night

Spokane Valley United Methodist Church has begun a weekly movie night.

A family-friendly movie will be shown at the church at 6:30 p.m. each Saturday.

Showing today is “Madagascar.” The movie for next Saturday is “Racing Stripes,” and “Ant Bully” is scheduled for Feb. 24.

The series is ongoing, and more G-rated movies will be shown in March.

All are welcome. Admission is free.

Blood drive

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will host the mobile blood donation coach at the church Sunday from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Drop-ins are welcome.

Donors should be over the age of 18 and in good health.
