Crime prevention will be conference topic

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office will soon host its second annual Neighborhood Watch Crime Prevention Conference. The conference is aimed at educating the community and area business owners. Topics include: Internet safety, gangs, traffic-related training and home security, 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., March 6 and 7, at Center Place, Mirabeau Point Park, 2426 N. Discovery Place.

•The Rockwood Neighborhood Council will meet today at 7 p.m. in the Guild Room of the Jewett House at St. John’s Episcopal Cathedral, 127 E. 12th Ave.

•The Building Stronger Neighborhoods Committee will meet Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Frontier West restaurant, 2121 N. Division St.

•The Community Assembly Administrative Committee will meet Tuesday at 4 p.m. at City Hall, Sixth-Floor Conference Room, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.

•The Riverside Neighborhood Council will meet Tuesday at 5 p.m. at the Spokane Public Library, Downtown Branch, Room 1-A, 906 W. Main Ave.

•The Community Assembly/City Council Committee on Neighborhoods will meet Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Spokane City Hall, City Council Briefing Center, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.

•The Community Assembly Land Use Committee will meet next Thursday at 5 p.m. at City Hall, Fifth-Floor Conference Room, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.

•The Manito/Cannon Hill Neighborhood Council will meet next Thursday at 7 p.m. at Wilson Elementary School, 911 W. 25th Ave.
