Warriors men, women defeat Sasquatch

Curtis Carlson scored 24 points Wednesday to lead Walla Walla (21-4, 11-1) past Community Colleges of Spokane 76-74 in NWAACC men’s basketball play at Spokane CC.

Ben Mitchell scored 18 for the Sasquatch (12-15, 5-7).

Women’s basketball

Sadie Short led Walla Walla (14-11, 8-4) with 13 points in a 59-35 NWAACC rout of CC Spokane (17-8, 7-5) at Spokane CC.

Idaho sits in fifth place after the first day of the Western Athletic Conference championships at San Antonio.

The Vandals had season-best times in the 200-yard medley relay and the 800 freestyle relay.
