Young Life fundraiser Tuesday

The Spokesman-Review

If you like pancakes and wish to support a nonprofit organization, then Tuesday is for you.

Four IHOP restaurants in Coeur d’Alene, north Spokane and Spokane Valley will celebrate National Pancake Day by giving away free pancakes.

For the second straight year IHOP restaurants will partner locally with Young Life of the Inland Northwest. Instead of paying for your pancakes, customers can donate any amount of money to support the work of Young Life.

Young Life is a multidenomination outreach ministry to students in junior and senior high schools. Each week more than 1,200 students participate in the Young Life ministry.

“We had a tremendous show of support from the community last year,” said Tom Davis, area director of Spokane Valley Young Life. “We raised close to $5,000, and IHOP served 6,000 pancakes. Our goal this year is to raise $10,000 and serve 10,000 pancakes.

“We’re hoping that all friends of Young Life will go to IHOP on Tuesday to support the work we do with teenagers.”
