Cardinals entertain Spartans
North Idaho College entertains Colorado Northwestern, which occupies the Scenic West Athletic Conference basement in the men’s and women’s basketball standings, tonight and Saturday.
The Spartans women (5-18, 0-14 SWAC) haven’t won since a non-conference victory Dec. 30. Colorado Northwestern’s closest SWAC loss was by eight points to Eastern Utah. NIC (17-7, 9-5) defeated CNCC by comfortable margins last month.
The Spartans men (6-17, 0-14) gave NIC fits a month ago, losing by two and five points, respectively. Tip for the women’s game is at 5:30, followed by the men at 7:30.
Women’s basketball
Eastern Washington held Portland State (9-16, 5-7) to 25 percent field-goal shooting in the second half on the way to an 80-61 victory Thursday in Big Sky Conference play at Cheney.
Joanna Chadd’s 19 points led four players in double figures for the Eagles (8-17, 3-9).
