58-year-old man arrested on suspicion of child rape

From Staff Reports The Spokesman-Review

City police and Stevens County sheriff’s deputies arrested a 58-year-old Kettle Falls man Friday on suspicion of two counts of first-degree child rape, one count of attempted first-degree child rape and first-degree child molestation.

William Richard Lee, who lives in the 400 block of Sixth Avenue, was found to have several aliases “and could have committed additional sexual criminal acts under one or more of those names,” according to Kettle Falls police investigator Brenda Lamica.

Police and sheriff’s officers started a joint investigation after hearing from a 13-year-old alleged victim, Lamica said. A judge issued arrest and search warrants Thursday.

Stevens County Superior Court records indicate the alleged crimes occurred in August 2005.

Lamica said Lee remains under investigation. She asked anyone with information about him to call the Kettle Falls Police Department at (509) 738-6700 or the Sheriff’s Office at (509) 684-2555.
