Drug double standard
I am really amazed at the coverage the media is giving the Gonzaga students caught with drugs. It is catastrophic! Gonzaga shall perish because of these miscreants. It didn’t warrant more than a two-line mention in the news.
I am sorry for these two misdirected youngsters who have ruined their lives. What bothers me even more is the double standard being applied here. These young men will be ostracized and punished. So be it.
The double standard applied here is that two presidential candidates, Bill Clinton and Obama, who both admitted using drugs, are allowed to run for the highest office in the land. One was even elected and was in charge of this country. We saw what a debacle that was.
My question though is this: Why are we so engrossed in making these two young men’s stupidity a national calamity? Yet we allow two men to run for office of the president and nary an outcry beyond the casual media observation that sometimes we make mistakes and let it go at that. Our two “golden boys,” Clinton and Obama, are the media’s darlings. Heytvelt and Davis are creatures from the black lagoon. What a travesty!
