Home of the bullies
How very sad it is that when our administration accuses Iran of providing weapons to terrorists in Iraq, no one believes it. Like the little boy of legend who cried “wolf” once too often, our country’s honesty is completely suspect. We are now the big bully of the world where once we were the country most esteemed for our compassion and concern: i.e., World Wars I and II, the Marshall Plan, etc. The world poured out its sympathy to us after 9/11.
How long, if ever, can we restore the world’s faith in us? How quickly (six short years) one administration can destroy the reputation that took over a hundred years to establish. How sad for all of us.
