1986 560SL Mercedes Hard-top Convertible

Name: Susan S. Walker, 60, Spokane.

Purchased: April 29, 2003 for my 56th birthday present!

Why I love it: I have a very smart husband, Bob, who had been looking for a Mercedes for a few years. We were in Portland with my two sisters and their husbands and he saw the ad in the newspaper, called and explained that we would be traveling in Oregon for a week and when we got back he would call to see if it was still available. He did and we drove it home. It is silver with navy blue interior and cloth top. I call him “smart” because he bought this car, and when we got home he said, “Oh, by the way, Happy Birthday!” OK! Smart, because he got something he wanted (and I love it), gave it to his wife on one condition: that he could drive it whenever he wanted. He also takes good care of it for me. We love going for rides in it. It is a “classy” car. It is the most comfortable car to go on trips in, just he and I. He owns a Harley and this is “mine.” The license plate says “SUZHRLY” (Sue’s Harley.)

My next car will be: I am going to keep this as long as I am able and can drive. My other car is a 2005 Chrysler Town & Country van that I love, too.
