Jared Prince hit a two-run, two-out triple to cap a four-run eighth inning, helping Washington State rally from a 5-0 deficit and defeat No. 13 Texas 7-6 in a baseball non-conference series finale at Disch-Falk Field in Austin, Texas.

Trailing 6-3 entering the eighth, the Cougars (3-3) strung together five hits as Josh Ashenbrenner drove in Travis Coulter, who opened the inning with a single, from third.

Prince then came in and drove an 0-2 pitch off Longhorn (9-6) reliever Randy Boone to the gap in right-center, clearing the bases and putting Washington State up for good.

At the plate Gran finished the day with three hits, while Jim Murphy and Prince both added two and a pair of RBIs. Michael Ratigan picked up the first win of his WSU career, working 1 1/3 innings with one strikeout.
