The 2008 campaign has already begun online

The Spokesman-Review

TechPresident.com: Certainly there are hundreds of Web sites to track the national political scene. The recently launched TechPresident.com wants to stake the claim as the one most attuned to the Web-centric approach of the leading candidates.

One of its goals, founders say, is to cover how the 2008 presidential candidates are using the Web, and how the Web is using them.

Its approach is tried and true, with a team of bloggers chiming in on assorted topics, making note of how the Democrats and Republicans are each connecting with voters or with supporters.

An early story focuses on how YouTube, the popular video site, will no doubt be a steady source of campaign material between now and Election Day.

The Avalon Project is the name of Yale Law School’s digital library of documents relating to history, diplomacy and international law.

The comprehensive digital library and archive includes electronic documents that date back more than 2,000 years.

Among the documents you can look at are digital presentations of the Magna Carta, the English Bill of Rights, America’s Bill of Rights and others.

The same site also features an online human rights archive, called Project Diana.

There are also interesting recent legal documents, such as the federal indictment against “American Taliban” John Walker Lindh.
