Traffic stop ends in woman’s arrest

The Spokesman-Review

A woman with nonprescribed morphine tablets was arrested Thursday after a traffic stop.

Spokane Valley Officer Jeff Getchall saw a driver violate a traffic law near Sprague Avenue and Havana Street shortly after midnight Thursday, said Spokane County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Dave Reagan.

When he stopped the woman, she admitted she didn’t have a driver’s license.

Alisha Marie Loss, 31, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and third-degree driving while license suspended, Reagan said. The woman was arrested, Reagan said. Five morphine tablets were found inside her purse.

Tools stolen from Vista Construction

A Spokane Valley construction business lost socket wrenches and pneumatic tools during a weekend robbery.

The hand tools at Vista Construction, 3420 N. Tschirley Road, were collectively valued at more than $1,000, said Reagan.

Sometime between Dec. 29 and Tuesday a thief pried away siding to break into the business, Reagan said. The tools were stored in several drawers.

Anyone with information regarding the burglary should call 242-TIPS.
