Valley Fire – A final resolution concerning the annexation of a few homes near Newman Lake was approved. Two local men were honored for pulling an unconscious man away from his burning couch. (Source: Commissioner Joe Dawson)

Fire District 2 (Fairfield) – An exhaust system has been installed in Station 21 and is awaiting final wiring. Commissioners discussed bringing in a trainer to teach EMT courses or sending volunteers to another location. They also discussed the lack of a contract with AMR. (Source: Chief Adam Brannon)

Edgecliff SCOPE – A representative of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program spoke about volunteer opportunities. A Weed and Seed training session is coming up that is expected to be well attended. The group has two AmeriCorps volunteers helping out. (Source: Rick Scott)
