Top 25 men: Buckeyes survive Vols

Ron Lewis finally gave Ohio State’s fans something to smile about.

Lewis hit a 3-pointer with 11.2 seconds left to help the fifth-ranked Buckeyes (14-3) beat No. 16 Tennessee (13-4) 68-66 on Saturday in Columbus, Ohio.

Lewis’ basket finally gave Ohio State a win over an SEC team. It also provided the Buckeyes with their first win against a ranked team this season after losses to top-10 road opponents North Carolina, Florida and Wisconsin.

Greg Oden played his most dominating game so far – 24 points, 15 rebounds and numerous shots altered on defense – to lead the Buckeyes.

(2) Florida 84, South Carolina 50: At Columbia, S.C., Lee Humphrey set career highs with 27 points and seven 3-pointers, and the Gators (16-2, 3-0 SEC) won their ninth straight game by defeating the Gamecocks (10-5, 0-2).

Tre Kelley had 24 points and was the only Gamecock in double figures.

(3) Wisconsin 56, Northwestern 50: At Evanston, Ill., Alando Tucker scored 15 of his 17 points in the second half and the Badgers (17-1, 3-0 Big Ten) held off the Wildcats (10-7, 0-4) for their 13th consecutive victory.

(6) Kansas 68, Iowa State 64 (OT): At Ames, Iowa, Sasha Kaun scored 13 points and Brandon Rush added two key baskets late in overtime to lead the Jayhawks (15-2, 2-0 Big 12) past the Cyclones (11-6, 2-1).

Mike Taylor finished with 21 points for Iowa State.

(7) Pittsburgh 74, Georgetown 69: At Pittsburgh, Mike Cook had 18 points and the Panthers (16-2, 4-0 Big East) won their sixth in a row, defeating the Hoyas (11-5, 1-2).

Aaron Gray and Antonio Graves added 11 points each and Ronald Ramon had 10 for the Panthers, who improved to 11-0 at home this season.

(8) Texas A&M 87, Colorado 69: At Boulder, Colo., Joseph Jones scored 18 points and grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds as the Aggies (15-2, 3-0 Big 12) beat the Buffaloes (4-9, 0-3) for their eighth straight victory.

(9) Oklahoma State versus Nebraska: At Lincoln, Neb., an ice storm kept the Cowboys from heading north to Nebraska, forcing postponement of the game against the Cornhuskers.

(12) Butler 62, South Dakota State 47: At Indianapolis, A.J. Graves sat out the first game of his career after having oral surgery earlier in the week, but Brandon Crone scored 14 points and Pete Campbell came off the bench with 11 to lead the Bulldogs (15-2) over the Jackrabbits (4-13).

(13) LSU 65, Auburn 63: At Baton Rouge, La., Terry Martin scored 17 of his season-high 23 points in the second half, helping the Tigers (12-4, 1-1 SEC) hold off Auburn (11-7, 1-2).

Rasheem Barrett led Auburn with 15 points. Quan Prowell added 12 and Josh Dollard had 11.

Maryland 92, (17) Clemson 87: At College Park, Md., Ekene Ibekwe scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Terrapins (15-3, 1-2) in an upset of the Tigers (17-1, 3-1), the last unbeaten Division I team.

(18) Air Force 58, Wyoming 56: At Laramie, Wyo., Jacob Burtschi had 18 points, including the winning basket at the buzzer, and the Falcons (17-1, 4-0 MWC) beat the Cowboys (11-6, 2-1).

Brandon Ewing led Wyoming with 15 points, and Brad Jones scored 13.

(20) Memphis 75, Southern Mississippi 62: At Hattiesburg, Miss., Chris Douglas-Roberts scored 23 points, including nine during a decisive 12-3 run, and the Tigers (13-3, 3-0 C-USA) beat the Golden Eagles (11-4, 1-1).

Marquette 81, (21) West Virginia 63: At Milwaukee, Dominic James snapped out of his shooting slump, scoring 21 to help the Golden Eagles (15-4, 2-2 Big East) defeat the Mountaineers (13-3, 3-2).

Marquette used a 10-0 run midway through the second half to pull away from West Virginia, which has lost two straight on the road after opening conference play 3-0 at home.

(24) Connecticut 68, St. John’s 59: At New York, freshmen Stanley Robinson, A.J. Price and Hasheem Thabeet combined for 40 points and the Huskies (13-3, 2-2 Big East) snapped a two-game losing streak with a victory over the Red Storm (10-7, 1-3) at Madison Square Garden.

(25) Texas 80, Oklahoma 69: At Austin, Texas, freshman Kevin Durant had his usual stellar game with 28 points and 13 rebounds, and the Longhorns (13-3, 3-0 Big 12) overwhelmed the Sooners (9-6, 1-2).
