Brueggeman promoted to county engineer
Spokane County’s new overseer of roads and engineering has almost three decades of experience.
County commissioners on Tuesday appointed Bob Brueggeman, 53, as the county engineer.
Brueggeman, who lives in northern Spokane County, has served in the role on an interim basis since October when his predecessor, Ross Kelley, retired.
Brueggeman was hired by the county in 1977 as an assistant traffic engineer soon after he received his civil engineering degree from the University of Idaho. He was promoted to a traffic engineer in 1991 and became the assistant county engineer in 2003.
The county considered about two dozen applicants for the job.
