NHL: Red Wings end Predators’ win streak
Henrik Zetterberg had two goals and an assist, and Pavel Datsyuk added four assists to lift the Detroit Red Wings to a 5-3 victory over the Nashville Predators on Wednesday night in Detroit.
Nicklas Lidstrom, Jiri Hudler and Tomas Holmstrom also scored for Detroit, which won its fifth straight.
Datsyuk has 14 points – two goals and 12 assists – in his last five games.
Greg Zanon got his first NHL goal, and Jordin Tootoo and Dan Hamhuis also scored for Nashville, which saw its six-game winning streak come to an end.
Sabres 6, Bruins 3: At Buffalo, N.Y., Brian Campbell and Maxim Afinogenov scored in the third period, lifting the Sabres to a win over Boston.
Stars 3, Flames 2: At Dallas, All-Star goalie Marty Turco matched a franchise record with his 160th victory, stopping 18 shots and assisting on a goal as the Stars beat Calgary.
Avalanche 4, Coyotes 3: At Denver, Paul Stastny scored two goals and Tyler Arnason added three assists as Colorado beat Phoenix, ending the Coyotes’ six-game road winning streak.

The New York Rangers and Martin Straka agreed to a one-year contract extension that will pay the center $3.3 million next season – a $200,000 raise. … Pittsburgh Penguins forward Sidney Crosby felt fine a day after the second-year star was speared by the stick of New York Islanders’ All-Star Jason Blake. Blake didn’t receive a penalty following the hit, but Crosby was sent to the penalty box for unsportsmanlike conduct. … Gov. Ed Rendell and local leaders are expected to meet again today with the Pittsburgh Penguins as the sides appear to be getting closer to completing a deal to build a new downtown arena.
