Legislative forum planned Saturday

The Interfaith Council is presenting the Eastern Washington Legislative Conference Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Spokane, 4340 W. Fort Wright Drive.

Topics of discussion will include health care, living wages, homelessness and mental health. The day also will include a discussion on the ethics of faith in action, and there will be policy briefings from the Washington Association of Churches and the Washington State Catholic Conference. The cost of admission is $15, or for those in groups of five or more, $12 per person. Lunch is included.

Speaker and workshop

The Unity Center, 4123 E. Lincoln Road, is presenting speaker Mary Manin Morrissey Sunday.

Morrissey will speak on the topic “The Power of Your Holy Grail” at the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services and will conduct a workshop on “The Four Shamanic Canons” from 1 to 4 p.m.

The workshop will discuss the four universal practices which will become portals to the power of your soul.

Morrissey is the former minister of the Oregon Living Enrichment Center in Wilsonville, Ore., and has spoken at the United Nations.

The cost of admission to the workshop is a suggested donation of $25.

Spiritual workshop

The parishes of St. Patrick and St. Francis Xavier are presenting a two-day workshop, “The Called and Gifted Workshop,” Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Parish Hall, 5021 N. Nelson, and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Auditorium, 3715 N. Standard St.

The workshop will discuss who the average person can discover how God is calling them.

The classes are free of charge and a donation will be accepted.

Crystal bowl meditation

The Unity Center, 4123 E. Lincoln Road, is presenting crystal bowl meditations Friday at 7 p.m.

The cost is a $10 free-will offering.
