Jami Bjorklund scored a career-high 25 points to lead Gonzaga in Saturday night’s 87-82 win over San Diego (17-4, 6-1) at the Jenny Craig Pavillion in San Diego.

The Bulldogs (15-8, 7-0) took sole possession of first place in the West Coast Conference, and broke the Toreros’ seven-game winning streak.

Gonzaga freshman Heather Bowman scored 20, and Stephanie Hawk added 16 points and 10 rebounds.

“Katie Madison scored 15 points and Charlotte Otero added 10, but Idaho couldn’t keep up with Western Athletic Conference leader Boise State in an 85-55 loss in Boise.

Jessica Thompson led five Broncos (16-4, 7-0) in double-digit scoring with a game-high 16 points.

Idaho (4-15, 1-7) was outrebounded 60-26.

“Alida Bower recorded 17 points, five rebounds and five assists, but it wasn’t enough as Lewis & Clark handed Whitworth a 74-65 Northwest Conference loss at the Pamplin Sports Center in Portland.

Susan McDaniel chipped in 12 points for the Pirates (12-7, 6-4) and Crystal Castle scored a game-high 25 for the Pioneers (12-7, 5-5).

“Sarah Scates led all scorers with 20 points and Ali Mittlestadt tacked on 16 to lead Community Colleges of Spokane in a 71-67 Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges win over Wenatchee Valley at Spokane Falls CC.

Ren Mallory contributed 10 points for the Sasquatch (15-6, 4-4), who led the Knights (10-12, 5-3) at the half 40-32.
