Athletics 7, Yankees 0: At New York, Chad Gaudin combined with Rich Harden on a one-hitter, and Oakland connected for three home runs off Kei Igawa in a victory over the Yankees. Jason Kendall was 3 for 3 with a homer and a walk for Oakland.

Twins 8, Tigers 5: At Detroit, Michael Cuddyer and Lew Ford homered and drove in three runs apiece to help Minnesota beat the Tigers. Cuddyer hit a three-run homer, went 2 for 3 and scored two runs. Ford hit a two-run drive and a run-scoring double.

Orioles 6, Angels 3: At Baltimore, Brian Burres took a three-hitter into the eighth inning, Ramon Hernandez hit a three-run homer and the Orioles defeated Los Angeles. Kevin Millar drove in two runs scoring twice, and Melvin Mora had a three-hit game for Baltimore.

White Sox 3, Royals 1 (10): At Kansas City, Mo., Tadahito Iguchi poked a two-run single into right field with two outs in the 10th inning, lifting Chicago past the Royals. The winner was Matt Bukvich, who threw one pitch to one batter in the ninth.

Indians 8, Devil Rays 6: At Cleveland, Grady Sizemore drove in three runs to lead the Indians to a win over Tampa Bay. Sizemore had three hits. C.C. Sabathia gave up two earned runs and six hits over seven innings for Cleveland. He struck out eight without a walk.

Rangers 5, Red Sox 4: At Boston, Sammy Sosa hit his 602nd career homer to break a fifth-inning tie, leading Texas over the Red Sox. Josh Beckett gave up five runs and 10 hits in five innings for Boston. Eric Gagne pitched a perfect ninth for his ninth save.
