It’s summer, so let’s take it easy and avoid stuff that’s too serious.
The Best of YouTube video podcast is exactly what it says it is: one daily download of a funny or curious clip.
You’ve likely seen some of these already. The well-traveled iPhone TV commercial spoof is here; so is the live-actor video featuring humans performing “The Simpsons” intro.
We chose it because it features easy-to-get videos that are all safe for general viewing. YouTube appeals to us because we’re drawn to stuff showing people looking silly. We identify with that level of humor.
Production value: Could be better. Videos tend to be grainy.
Appeal factor: Silly.
Overall socially redeeming purpose: Pretty low. But hey, like everyone else, we’re not above gawking and chortling over some silly videos.
