Bend scored four times after two outs in the ninth inning to defeat the Spokane RiverHawks 7-3 in the final game of a West Coast Collegiate Baseball League series at Gonzaga University’s Patterson Complex.
Spokane’s Travis Hill recorded two outs in the ninth before surrendering four hits and a walk, capped by Derek Poppert’s two-run single.
Brian Embery’s two-out, three-run double in the sixth erased Bend’s 3-0 lead.
The Elks (15-9) won the series 2-1 and are 5-1 this season against the RiverHawks (8-16). Spokane begins a three-game series at Bellingham tonight.
