Summer concerts

“Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 8441 N. Indian Trail Road, will continue its Concerts in the Park series Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the church amphitheater.

The concert will feature Just Plain Darin, a Christian rock band.

Concertgoers should bring blankets and chairs.

The Scoop ice cream van will be at the concert to sell treats.

“The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 127 E. 12th Ave., will present carillonneur Gijsbert Kok, today at 7 p.m.

Kok, who is from the Netherlands, will give demonstrations of how the carillon is played after the concert.

Concertgoers should bring chairs or blankets and also are invited to tour the cathedral after the concert.

Open house

The Spokane Buddhist Temple, 927 S. Perry St., will hold an open house and book sale in conjunction with the South Perry Summer Fair on Saturday.

The temple also will offer introduction-to-Buddhism classes at noon and 2 p.m.

Movie night

Lidgerwood Presbyterian Church, 4449 N. Nevada St., will present a free family movie Friday at 7 p.m.

The movie, “Wild America,” is an adventure story starring Jonathan Taylor Thomas.

Singles group

The Christian Singles Fellowship will hold its July meeting Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of North Addison Baptist Church, 6120l N. Addison St.

This month’s topic will be “Clutter Control,” presented by Alan Basham of Eastern Washington University.
