Church first, then games and barbecue in the park

Eastpoint Church is inviting Valley residents to its annual Church in the Park at 10 a.m. Sunday in Pavillion Park in Liberty Lake.

After a short worship service with baptisms there will be a barbecue and a carnival for kids. The park has water features, so bring swimsuits. Those attending with last names beginning with the letters A-N are asked to bring a side dish or salad to share, and those with last names beginning with O-Z are asked to bring a dessert. The church will provide meat to barbecue and drinks.

All are welcome to attend. Bring blankets or lawn chairs. The church will not host its regular services that day. Pavillion Park is at the corner of Country Vista Drive and Molter Road.

Feast celebration

Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church will host a celebration of the Feast of Mary of Magdala Sunday at 4 p.m. that features prayer, music, liturgical dance and stories that focus on Mary.

The event is part of the Mary of Magdala Project to recognize women leaders in the church. The church is at 304 S. Adams Road.

Movie night

Zion Lutheran Church will host another family movie night on the church lawn on Wednesday. The G-rated movie “Everyone’s Hero” will be shown at 6 p.m. Admission is free. Those attending are welcome to bring a blanket or lawn chairs. The church is at 8304 E. Buckeye Ave. Call 926-5407 for more information.
