Mets 6, Pirates 3: At New York, Tom Glavine pitched six innings to earn career win No. 299 and Paul Lo Duca drove in four runs to lead the Mets past Pittsburgh. Billy Wagner got his 23rd save.
Reds 7, Brewers 2: At Cincinnati, Jeff Keppinger’s bases-loaded double highlighted the Red’s two-out scoring spree in a victory over Milwaukee.
Astros 2, Dodgers 1: At Houston, Carlos Lee hit a solo home run in the seventh inning to lift the Astros to over Los Angeles. Brad Lidge pitched a perfect ninth for his fifth save in eight chances.
Cubs 7, Cardinals 1: At St. Louis, Cliff Floyd and Mike Fontenot both drove in two runs in Chicago’s victory over the Cardinals. Alfonso Soriano lacked only a home run for the cycle for the Cubs.
Diamondbacks 7, Marlins 0: At Phoenix, Brandon Webb threw seven shutout innings and Arizona beat Florida. Scott Hairston was 2 for 4 with two doubles and three RBIs for the Diamondbacks.
Phillies 7, Nationals 5: At Philadelphia, Ryan Howard’s two-run homer in the 14th inning gave the Phillies a victory over Washington. Clay Condrey pitched three scoreless innings for the win.
Giants 3, Braves 2: At San Francisco, Rich Aurilia hit a tiebreaking homer in the sixth inning, Noah Lowry held Atlanta scoreless after allowing a run in the first and the Giants got a rare win with Barry Bonds out of the lineup, beating the Braves.
