Get out, get going

Safety First

» Children can learn about safety while having a bit of fun today at the Spokane Valley Mall during a Kids Safety Fair sponsored by Valley Hospital and Medical Center. Information will be available on water, fire and household safety. But the kids will really go for the games, prizes, face painting, clowns and bicycle rodeo. Free bicycle helmets will also be available, and six new bikes with helmets, will be given away.

» The event will be from noon to 4 p.m. in the Spokane Valley Mall south parking lot and JC Penney court. Ages 5-11 may attend.

'Aladdin'

» This weekend is your last chance to check out the Theater Arts for Children production of "Aladdin and His Magic Lamp." The final performances begin at 7 p.m. today and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Spokane Valley Community Center, 10814 E. Broadway Ave. Admission is $5. Be sure to head down and check it out before the show ends.
