Man charged with theft of drill
Officers arrested a 46-year-old Deer Park man Monday evening after he grabbed a $541 drill combo kit and ran from the East Sprague Avenue Home Depot store without paying, said Spokane Valley Police spokesman Sgt. Dave Reagan.
A civilian witness chased down Jay Calvin Clark and held him until police arrived to make the arrest.
A follow-up investigation revealed that Clark had stolen the item to pawn for drug money. Officer Mike Wall arrested Clark, 30611 N. Perry Road, and booked him into the Spokane County Jail on a felony count of second-degree theft.
