Twins 3, Indians 2: At Cleveland, Brian Buscher drove in the go-ahead run in the ninth inning with a grounder after Torii Hunter’s leadoff double, and Minnesota beat the Indians. Twins starter Johan Santana took a no-hit bid into the sixth but earned a no-decision.
Orioles 7, Yankees 5: At Baltimore, rookie Brian Burres took a two-hit shutout into the seventh, Miguel Tejada had four RBIs and the Orioles beat Roger Clemens and New York for their sixth straight victory. Alex Rodriguez, needing a home run to reach 500 for his career, struck out three times and finished 0 for 4.
White Sox 2, Blue Jays 0: At Chicago, Mark Buehrle pitched eight innings, Jerry Owens hit his first career home run and Chicago defeated Toronto. Buehrle (8-6), whose wife Jamie gave birth in a St. Louis-area hospital on Thursday, scattered eight hits and struck out six with one walk.
Royals 6, Rangers 5: At Kansas City, Mo., John Buck had three hits and drove in two runs to lead the Royals past Texas for their third consecutive win. Kansas City closer Octavio Dotel gave up a pair of runs in the ninth but escaped to pick up his eleventh save.
Angels 10, Tigers 3: At Anaheim, Calif., Garret Anderson hit a disputed three-run homer in the eighth to break open a tie game, Orlando Cabrera added a two-run homer to cap the seven-run inning, and Los Angeles beat Detroit.
Red Sox 12, Devil Rays 6: At St. Petersburg, Fla., Kevin Youkilis hit a three-run double in Boston’s six-run 12th and the Red Sox beat Tampa Bay. Manny Ramirez added a two-run double for Boston in the 12th.
