Mets 3-5, Nationals 1-6: At New York, Ryan Langerhans hit a go-ahead single in the eighth inning, and Washington beat New York for a split of their day-night doubleheader. In the first game, Orlando Hernandez threw seven crisp innings in the Mets’ win.

Cardinals 5-7, Brewers 2-6: At St. Louis, Anthony Reyes ended a 12-game regular-season losing streak that began last September, helping the Cardinals beat Milwaukee to sweep a day-night doubleheader. St. Louis’ Ryan Ludwick’s RBI single capped a three-run ninth for a victory in the first game.

Diamondbacks 4, Braves 3: At Phoenix, Conor Jackson singled home Chris Young with one out in the tenth to lift Arizona to a victory over Atlanta.

Astros 3, Padres 1: At Houston, Roy Oswalt (10-6) matched a season high with 10 strikeouts and Houston beat San Diego.

Phillies 10, Pirates 5: At Philadelphia, Chris Coste hit a three-run homer, Jimmy Rollins drove in three runs and the Phillies beat Pittsburgh.

Cubs 8, Reds 1: At Cincinnati, Alfonso Soriano homered twice and drove in five runs to power Chicago to a win over the Reds.

Rockies 6, Dodgers 2: At Denver, Jeff Francis scattered seven hits over 7 2/3 innings, Troy Tulowitzki and Matt Holliday hit two-run homers and Colorado beat Los Angeles.

Giants 4, Marlins 3: At San Francisco, Ray Durham’s two-run single in the bottom of the ninth gave the Giants a win over Florida.
