Hometown: I was born in Owatonna, Minn., and moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1974. From there, we moved to Dalton Gardens 22 years ago.

Occupation: Golf course maintenance

Family: My wife, Bette Price, and our children, Josh, 30, and Kaytlyn, 25

Hobbies: Hunting, fishing, hiking, golfing, reading and carpentry

What do you like about North Idaho? I like the friendly people, our beautiful surroundings and the fact that we have distinct seasons.

What do you like or dislike about the current season? I like the variety of birds at The Links Golf Course, where I work. I also like that I can go fishing with my family in the Lester V. Smith Pike Tournament, which was named after my father. My wife and I also enjoy hosting the Eastern Open Golf Tournament.

Favorite music: Blues and country rock

Favorite TV show: “The Unit”

Favorite movie: “Gladiator”

Favorite spot in North Idaho? Why? Anywhere on Priest Lake, which I usually visit with my wife. It’s beautiful and has great sandy beaches, and we enjoy the solitude.
