LOS ANGELES – Katie Smith scored seven of her 18 points in the final 2:22 and grabbed a season-high nine rebounds to lead the Detroit Shock to a 79-73 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks on Monday night.

Deanna Nolan added 15 points, and Kara Braxton had 12 points and eight rebounds for the Shock.

LaToya Thomas had a season-high 19 points for the Sparks. Taj McWilliams-Franklin added 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Mwadi Mabika scored 16 points.
