Buddhism seminar planned Saturday

Soka Gakkai International USA will offer an introduction to Buddhism seminar on Saturday.

It will begin at 1 p.m. in Room 1A of the Spokane Public Library, 906 W. Main Ave.

The seminar will discuss “developing your full potential in your everyday life,” based on the booklet, “The Winning Life.”

Buddhist monk to speak

Bhante Seelawimala will speak during services for the Spokane Buddhist Temple on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at Mukogawa Fort Wright Institute, 4000 W. Randolph Road.

Seelawimala, a Sri Lankan Theravada monk, also is a professor of Buddhist studies at the Institute of Buddhist Studies in Berkeley, Calif.

Single Christians

Spokane Christian Singles will present speed-dating on Saturday and Sunday.

Singles in their 20s, 30s or early to mid-40s are invited Saturday at 7 p.m., and singles older than 45 are invited at 2 p.m. Sunday at Colbert Presbyterian Church, 4211 E. Colbert Road.

The cost is $10 for the first visit and $7 after that.
