SPIRIT LAKE – Father’s Day was once again the scene of lawn mower mayhem in Spirit Lake as mowers and various other vehicles took to the streets. The Spring Nationals took shape as entrants began arriving early. By noon, dozens of mowers and other vehicles backed in along Maine Street and packed Racers Row in anticipation of the days’ events.

The number of entrants increased from last year as over 30 racers thrilled the crowd at speeds of up to 50 mph. The modified class was packed with many new racers and both the stock and show classes had a few rookie entries as well.
