NIC’s Jordan will miss rest of season

The Spokesman-Review

North Idaho College’s Simone Jordan will miss the rest of the women’s basketball season with lingering knee problems.

Jordan, a freshman from Portland, was averaging a team-high 14.7 points, which would rank second in the Scenic West Athletic Conference, but she hasn’t played in enough games to qualify. Jordan returned from a month-long absence last week but experienced extensive pain in her surgically repaired knee.

“She’s the kind of kid that loves big games, that’s why she was the MVP of the Washington-Oregon all-star game,” NIC coach Chris Carlson said. “She’d be a great tournament player for us, but at least we know where we stand right now.”

Third-place NIC (19-9, 11-7 SWAC) visits first-place Salt Lake (23-5, 15-3) Friday and Saturday to conclude the regular season.

The men’s and women’s Region 18 tournaments will be held at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah, if the Badgers men sweep last-place Colorado Northwestern this weekend.
