Raid nets 150 marijuana plants

From Staff Reports The Spokesman-Review

Two “mother” marijuana plants and 148 saplings were found in the basement of a man’s Spokane Valley home Thursday morning in the first of two raids conducted by sheriff’s deputies.

Police served a search warrant at 10710 E. Grace and arrested 37-year-old Sean J. O’Connor, said Sgt. Dave Reagan of the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office. O’Connor was booked into Spokane County Jail on a felony count of manufacturing a controlled substance.

Detectives found O’Connor sitting on the couch with harvested pot all around him, Reagan said. Underneath the couch cushion was a .44-caliber Smith and Wesson revolver, he said.

No weapons charges have been filed against O’Connor, Reagan said.

Investigators referred to the indoor grow operation as “well-organized,” Reagan said.

“O’Connor’s entire basement was wrapped in plastic,” Reagan said. The home had a filtering device that removed the strong marijuana odor from the house and exhausted it outside, Reagan said.

The plants and harvested marijuana were valued at $112,000, Reagan said.

Later Thursday, sheriff’s detectives raided a Colbert residence and seized 15 marijuana plants and several ounces of the harvested drug.

Detectives arrested Todd W. White, 37, on charges of manufacturing a controlled substance; he was booked into the county jail. Reagan said White was growing marijuana in an upstairs portion of his shop located at 4403 E. Colbert Road.
