Forgiveness? Not from me
Allan LeTourneau suggests (Letters, Feb. 25, “Give them second chance”) that Josh Heytvelt is too young to understand the consequences of the happy leaf and the fun ‘shrooms.
Josh and his cohort knew all they needed or wanted to know about these drugs. Makes me high, make me fly!
I’m 65, but I remember that when I was still in high school, the users were losers. As it turned out, the one I knew was found in a shallow grave not too long after graduation.
Even as old as I am, I still don’t know all the technical facts about these drugs, but I, and every college “kid” in America, knows you don’t “do ‘em.”
Why would coach Mark Few or the Zags team want Josh back? What would have happened had a police officer stopped the bus the team was on … and got a whiff of Mr. H. The whole dang bunch would have ended up in the pokey. And was he playing “enhanced?”
I jest? … Look, if the “kid” is dumb enough to “smoke” and drive, he’s dumb enough to have it on the bus.
I say, let Mom, Dad and their religious counselors forgive them.
