The Spokesman-Review

Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service will hold its annual Chocolate Festival and Auction, Reigning Cats and Dogs, March 30 at CenterPlace Mirabeau Point.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $15.

There will be live and silent auctions, including such items as an original painting by Wednesday the dog, along with all the chocolate you can eat.

The event raises money for SCRAPS animal shelter, all the programs at the shelter and the animal medical fund.

SCRAPS shelters all stray and unwanted pets in the unincorporated areas of Spokane County, the cities of Spokane Valley, Millwood, Cheney and Fairchild Air Force Base.

In the past two weeks, SCRAPS has received a litter of abandoned malnourished puppies, a starving Labrador-heeler mix, and a starved elderly poodle.

The poodle didn’t survive.
